The following paragraphs disclose CRFA’s information gathering and dissemination practices for this Web site.
Information collected on the Site comes in two forms:
- Anonymous Information. CRFA collects limited non-personally identifying information made available by your browser whenever you visit a website. This non-personally identifying information is used to help us operate and improve the Site.

In order to provide you with accurate, useful and customized information, CRFA asks for the minimally necessary data which may include your name, address, telephone and email; and including your credit card information in order to complete your donation to CRFA. Your answers form the basis of the personal information that is unique to you.
Any transactions performed requiring your credit card information are performed in a secure environment, and credit card information is discarded immediately upon completing the necessary transaction(s).
Within the web site, you may be given the opportunity to indicate your preference to receive program information or participate in future research studies. If you indicate a preference to receive information, CRFA will use your contact information to send you information about CRFA, material about related products, or invitations to participate in research studies to assess the effectiveness of CRFA’s programs.

Authentication: CRFA uses eTapestry to provide authentication, trust, and SSL encryption. This allows site visitors to verify eTapestry with a trusted third party organization, while enabling communication with CRFA’s web sites using secure, encrypted channels.
Cookies: A cookie is a piece of data containing information about the user or user session. Usage of a cookie is not in any way linked to personally identifiable information while on the CRFA site. CRFA uses a session cookie to ensure that your session remains secure by maintaining an identifier unique to your session. The session cookie self-terminates after you close your browser. Persistent cookies are only used if you choose to have your login and password information maintained for future connections. The default setting is set to not store login and password information.
Encryption: CRFA employs SSL encryption in the use of its products. We recommend the use of a browser supporting 128-bit encryption though the site will support down to 40-bit encryption. CRFA uses appropriate security measures to protect your personally identifiable information against unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Security measures include the use of firewalls and secure data storage facilities.
