Torchbearer Award

Torchbearer :  Someone who lights the way for others in vision care

Purpose

To recognize individuals in the vision care community throughout the world whose lifetime service and commitment to the field of vision care has helped light the way for others.  It was developed by Francis W. Price, Jr. M.D. to recognize exemplary leadership and selfless service to others.

Criteria

The names of individuals may be placed in nomination to the Foundation by the public, the staff of Price Vision Group, Foundation Board members, and Foundation staff. Recognition may be given to those who have…

  • Initiated a new vision care service, scientific breakthrough or program aimed at improving the quality of life for others;
  • Provided dedicated service to others through lifetime achievements and lifelong commitment to ophthalmology

Award Publicity

Recipient names will be announced in the local press and on the website of the Cornea Research Foundation of America, and on other media sources as deemed appropriate, such as the Visionary newsletter.  Photographs will be taken to mark the occasion and placed in the newsletter and other media sources to accompany the announcement.
