This year's event was held at Bent Tree Golf Course in Westfield, Indiana. Golfers' enthusiasm was undaunted by early morning rains which threatened to cancel the outing, and sunshine prevailed just a few minutes before the shotgun start. Our MC was Dr. Francis Price, Jr. A delightful banquet, a Silent Auction and raffle drawing topped the evening off.

Next year's event will be held at the same location on June 19, 2008. Save the date!

2007 Cornea Golf Classic Almost Rained Out!

Storm clouds break just in time for shotgun start

Weather watching staff members vigilantly checked the predictions for thunderstorms on Tuesday, June 19 as the Foundation’s 10th annual Golf Classic hung in the balance.  Mother Nature came through as the storm passed, the rains stopped and the sun came out 30 minutes before the shotgun start at 1 PM.  While the rain was much needed to overcome local drought-like conditions, relief was evident on the faces of Board members and players alike that the rain ended when it did.

One hundred and four golf enthusiasts came to Westfield for the event.  Here are a few photos of some of the special people who played on that day:

The golf outing, our largest fundraiser of the year, raised almost $30,000.  To all of our sponsors and individual golfer-donors, and to our Board, thank you for helping us continue our life-changing work; it is through people like you that so many others will be helped.
